Martine Gjermundsen Ræstad's Bio

Hi! Introductions are hard, so until I return to this page once more, here's from the last time I had to write a bionote:
"Martine Gjermundsen Ræstad graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2020 with an MLitt with Distinction in Fantasy Literature, writing her thesis on how definitions of the “fantastic” interact with varying cultural and individual perceptions of its contrast, “reality”. She has since continued writing and presenting as an independent academic. Her work includes a contribution to the Mapping the Impossible journal on the topic of translating names of fantastic creatures, and a chapter contribution to Star Trek: Essays Exploring the Final Frontier. She is currently working towards a PhD on fictional representations of AI, continuing to examine how fictional realities and technologies can affect real-world technologies and attitudes."
